Exercise Simulation – 26 February, 1500HRS Storm Situation Update

St. George’s, Grenada – 26 February

At approximately 3:00 PM today, authorities received updated information regarding the simulated storm system currently affecting the region.

The Meteorological Office has provided five (5) updated satellite and radar images indicating continued storm activity within the monitoring area. Additionally, two (2) voice notes were received from field personnel reporting on current weather conditions and localized impacts.

A brief field update confirms increased rainfall, gusty winds, and minor surface water accumulation in select areas. At this time, no major structural damage or injuries have been reported within the simulation parameters.

Emergency coordination teams are actively reviewing all incoming information to assess potential risks and determine appropriate response measures. Agencies remain in communication to ensure timely information sharing and operational readiness.

The public is reminded that this is a simulation exercise designed to test communication and response protocols.

As of 5:00 PM, monitoring of the simulated storm system remains ongoing.

Additional analysis of the five (5) meteorological images received earlier today confirms continued cloud development and unstable weather conditions across parts of the island. Two (2) voice notes from field teams have provided situational feedback indicating intermittent heavy rainfall, moderate wind gusts, and minor flooding in low-lying areas within the exercise scenario.

Response teams have reviewed the short field report and are assessing potential impacts under the simulation framework. Coordination remains active between meteorological officials, district teams, and emergency management personnel to ensure accurate information flow and readiness for any escalation.

There are no reports of injuries or significant infrastructure damage within the parameters of this exercise.

The public is reminded that this is part of a scheduled simulation exercise aimed at strengthening national preparedness, communication systems, and inter-agency coordination.
